We had a really good weekend down at the Future Beef competition with the group from Taratahi Hawkes Bay. All the steers behaved very well and won some ribbons which was pleasing. Our Shorthorn Angus cross steers were first and second in the lightweight class on the hoof and our Shorthorn South Devon cross steer was first in the heavyweight class and champion on the hoof steer. As well as a number of the students winning herdsmen ribbons it was a very enjoyable week end.
